Coaching sessions

These coaching sessions focus on understanding why you feel blocked or stuck, with an emphasis on exploring emotions.

What is coaching, anyway?

You may have heard about coaching before, but what is it exactly? There are so many types of coaches out there… professional, business, career, health, wellness, spiritual, women’s, men’s, parenting, life, mindset, empowerment… the list is long and confusing!

So to clarify things, let’s talk first about what coaching isn’t.

What coaching isn't

Therapy:

Coaching doesn’t deal with issues like developmental trauma, abuse, clinical depression, personality disorders, etc. These should handled by someone who has the requisite training and experience in these areas. It’s possible for you to undergo coaching at the same as therapy, but all parties should be aware that this is happening.

Training:

Coaching isn’t the same as say, fitness training where the trainer guides you on a 10 week fitness plan. But having said that, many coaches do like to use programs because it simplifies things (and they’re passionate about it!). What this means for you is, the coach is working within a certain framework to address a problem or need you have. Just understand that not all of your issues may be addressed because they fall outside the scope of the framework.

Consulting, advising, mentoring:

While a suggestion may be offered from time to time, a coach doesn’t analyze your problem then advise what you should do about it. The whole premise of coaching is to help you develop your inner coach and find your own answers 🙂 So if you’re looking for instruction and guidance, you should seek an advisor or mentor instead!

What coaching is

Coaching is a safe and judgement-free space to explore topics or problems that are making you feel blocked or stuck. They could be related to work, relationships, family, career, personal development, business, finances, health or even spirituality. Coaching conversations are structured in a way to help you understand yourself and your problem better, shift your perception, and come up with different ways of going forward so you can grow.

My coaching is underpinned by Positive Psychology, Choice Theory, Reality Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology which I may introduce whenever it seems suitable.

Who is it good for?

You do need to be reasonably sound in mind and body, because coaching is focused on building yourself up. If you’re keen to work towards the following, then coaching may be just what you need!

  • More self confidence
  • More self empowerment
  • Better self leadership
  • Greater influence and presence

Why do I coach emotions?

Because there are so many golden nuggets hidden inside of them! Like needs, wants, beliefs, judgements, perceptions, likes and dislikes, values. Discovering all these things helps you know yourself better. This is called emotional literacy.

Why is it helpful to have emotional literacy? When you know yourself better, you have more control over your reactions. Like your thoughts, choices, decisions and actions. Even your feelings, too. You begin to manage yourself better. This is what’s meant by emotional resilience.

When you have more emotional resilience, the better you get at managing yourself and become less reactive over things you can’t control… like what other people say and do. You also become more proactive and get better at meeting your own needs and going after your goals. This is what self leadership is about!

What else can you tell me about sessions?

Coaching sessions are about 60 minutes long. This is your safe space to reflect and maybe also do some exercises or some external processing. If you’re feeling really blocked, I might use some of my energy healing techniques just to help you out. But the emphasis is on coaching.

All coaching sessions take place online. If you live in Singapore, in person sessions can be arranged at an additional fee – please inquire for more details.

The sessions can be done as and when needed or consecutively in a set of 3, 5 or 10. Please see below for the session rates. Coaching packages have no expiry date and can also be shared or gifted to a family member or friend.
